April is passionate about helping her clients achieve their maximum potential. She completed her Masters degree in Physiotherapy after attaining her Bachelor of Science, both at the University of British Columbia (UBC). April is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Physical Therapy at UBC. She is experienced with pediatric clients with complex needs. She has worked at the BC Centre for Ability and Sunny Hill Health Centre, and has experience both in the public and private practice. April understands the importance of effective interdisciplinary teamwork for optimal client care. April also has diverse experience working with clients with Autism and is a member of the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP).
She is committed to continual learning and has taken many post-graduate courses including:
April combines physiotherapy techniques and neuro-acupuncture in her practice, which has shown improvement in many of her clients. She has deepened her knowledge and skills through the following acupuncture courses and certification:
In addition to her clinical practice, she also received the Canadian Institute for Health Research Scholarship in 2012, and presented her research at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, DC. In 2021, she was a presenter in the Quality Forum and Pediatric Symposium. April is a member of the College of Physiotherapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) and Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP). In her free time, April enjoys going outdoors with her family and her Old English Sheepdog. |
